Jan Inniss

I have always been interested in art and artists. As a young person, I considered making art a career but the alternative lure of science, health care and the economics of making a living became paramount. When I retired I was determined to reconnect with those early dreams and have enjoyed the many pleasures of creating art for myself and others.

I have been fortunate to learn under the guidance of several talented teachers. Watercolours, oils and acrylics as well as multiple media work have been part of my artistic endeavours. Flowers and landscapes are subjects that appeal to me and transfer readily to my canvas. I have tried to capture scenes from our varied Canadian landscape and also dabbled in abstracts. Recently, I have begun to enjoy the challenge of creating art for others as well – trying to capture the images that are meaningful to them.
