I was born in Hull, Québec and soon found that I loved travelling, sketching and painting. As a start, I took several classes in pencil and charcoal drawing at the Ottawa Art Institute. After marriage, I moved to Toronto then Winnipeg where I studied Interior Design. Upon moving to Calgary, I found my first passion, Photography. During the following years I concentrated on improving my artistic side with photography but always wanted to go back to drawing and painting but could not work these into my busy schedule.
Now that I am retired I found my new passion in Acrylic painting, which I now combine with my love of photography to plan, detail and construct my paintings. I take numerous photos of what interests me and of places I travel but with the purpose of turning them into a painting. Several of my paintings were inspired by the fascinating buildings I photographed on a recent trip to Portugal, France and Spain.
I have taken free-style painting classes with Angela Kilby an artist and teacher who lets you find your own ideas and style. I updated my drawing skill with France Tremblay a renowned Kanata artist. Also, I have participated in Art festivals such as “Art for Africa” in Kanata and” Passion for Painting” festival at Cedarview Golf and Country Club. I displayed my paintings at Brush Strokes Art Store and Gallery, in Carleton Place.
Currently, I am a member of the Ottawa West Art Association (OWAA) which maintains a gallery display at the Goulbourn Recreation Centre in Stittsville, ON, where you can find some of my painting presented as well as on their Website www.owaa.ca
