I am an architect who loves watercolour painting. I was educated at University of Jordan (B.A. Architecture, 1983), University of Jordan (M.A. Urban Design, 1996) and McGill University (M.A. Minimum Cost Housing, 2000) before obtaining my doctorate in the Minimum Cost Housing Program of the School of Architecture at McGill University.

I renovated the recreation room in the basement into my studio. This is my sanctuary where I love spending my quality time writing, painting and listening to music. I also provide watercolour lessons at the beginners and the advanced levels.

My watercolour work is highly influenced by my cultural, academic and professional backgrounds. Most of my paintings document the nomadic Bedouins and the architectural heritage that can be found around. My images invite the viewer to become involved in the energy of each unique painting. In my work, I do my best to produce not only beautiful but also meaningful images. I believe that the role of the artist is to express what has significant meaning in our lives.

In addition to watercolour painting, as an architect I work with my clients to express their own ideas in the visual language of architectural and landscape designs, in an effective and environmentally conscious way. My landscape designs are centered on the following question: Do you wish your front yard to welcome you home? Do you want your backyard to be your favourite get-a-way?
