My name is Patti Jardine. I was always afraid of oil painting. It seemed so exotic and high maintenance. Despite my education in Fine Crafts (weaving), I was still intimidated. I’ve always loved looking at oil paintings. All of the colour nuances and shapes to trick the eye fascinated me.
Mid-life reflection resulted in a night school course at my son’s high school. I gained some confidence and haven’t looked back. So much to paint, so little time! I now enjoy all the processes and rituals of painting in oils. If some of my efforts end up in peoples homes, bonus!! I am inspired every day.
