Artist's Statement
I was born in France where I grew-up before moving to Canada in the early 1980s. Photography has always been my passion. When in Canada, I capture the wonders of nature, be it in their smallest details or in a more panoramic way. When in Europe, it is the « old stones », mostly the ones of religious buildings, that catch my eye. Hence, my work has two sides, Nature and the old testimonies of human faith and activity. Two complementary sides in which I try to express, through my images, the emotions created by beauty and the feelings of peace, serenity and contact with eternity in the closeness to the “old stones” and Nature.
I have exhibited in Canada and in the United States in numerous venues for both juried and opened, and group and solo shows. My photographs hang in a number of private collections in different provinces of Canada and in France.
As a testimony to the beauty of Nature, I selected over 170 of my images and recently published a book titled Emotions that presents a year of the life of Nature on a portion of the TransCanada trail near Stittsville, Ontario. A bilingual text introduces each of the seasons.
